Which topics deserve their own discussion area? This can and will change as we grow and work out what people want to talk about - but we need to start somewhere! Some suggestions to consider for now: Franchises / Franchising Startups (too vague?) Venture Capital (covered under Business Finance?) Human Resources / Staffing ... any other suggestions?
Marketing IT/backend - ie website building, email programs (exchange), what's needed to run smoothly, analytics etc Compliance rules and regulations Will add more as I think of it!
Staff are such a big part of a business, definitely need a section for that. I'd be interested to hear what sales incentive programs others have implemented, for example. Franchise discussion section would be good; wonder how careful we'd have to be when discussing any issues with / complaints about franchisors? Marketing is another one - discussing what campaigns / methods have worked and been cost effective...? Also: Work-Life Balance? Running a small business can be long hours, especially in early/small stages...
Discussing sales techniques would be nice. Selling is everything in business and too many neglect the importance. A skilled sales person does not have to work twice as long as an unskilled sales person to make double the profit. Would be good to share some success stories of sales you've converted or increased and the techniques you used in the circumstances.
Education section. There's so many options now other than tafe or uni nowadays be good to get feedback and advice on the most suitable training and education
Hey Sim. I was a member of a great business forum back in the day. Unfortunately their server got hacked and they lost the lot It suffered a fatal blow and never recovered. It lives on in part thanks to the internet archive. We had some good topic areas. Things have changed a little in the past 5 years or so, but most of the topics would be relevant and a good place to start. Free Business Tips Forum • Index page
